Terms and Conditions

Power Up Haringey Home Energy Efficiency Grant Scheme

  1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions apply to participation in the Power Up Haringey Home Energy Efficiency Grant Scheme (“the Scheme”), administered by RetrofitWorks Ltd (“RetrofitWorks”).

The Scheme enables homeowners to access group-buying discounts, technical surveys, quality-assured installations, and where eligible, financial support from the London Borough of Haringey (LBH) Home Energy Efficiency Grant and other funding programmes.

Participation in the Scheme does not create a contract for installation works between RetrofitWorks and the homeowner. Installation contracts are entered into separately between the homeowner and the appointed installation contractor.

  1. Roles and Responsibilities

For clarity:

  • RetrofitWorks Ltd acts as Scheme Administrator and Managing Agent, responsible for customer registration, eligibility verification, grant application administration, programme oversight, customer communications, quality assurance oversight, and programme reporting.
  • The London Borough of Haringey provides grant funding and is responsible for reviewing and approving grant applications and overseeing funding compliance.
  • Installation contractors are responsible for coordinating technical surveys, preparing installation proposals, entering into installation contracts directly with homeowners, and delivering installation works.
  1. Scheme Registration and Deposit

Participation in the Scheme requires:

  • completion of registration details
  • payment of the Scheme registration or survey deposit (where applicable)

Deposits contribute to the cost of eligibility checks, scheme administration, and coordination activities. Deposit refund eligibility will be confirmed in Scheme communications and may depend on property suitability or Scheme participation status.

  1. Technical Surveys and Proposals

Following registration:

  • a technical home survey may be arranged by the appointed installation contractor
  • installation proposals and system designs will be prepared
  • estimated costs, available discounts, and potential grant eligibility will be outlined

Final installation pricing is confirmed in the installation contract issued by the appointed contractor.

  1. Grant Funding and Eligibility

Where applicable, eligible participants may benefit from financial support including:

  • Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) grants
  • London Borough of Haringey Home Energy Efficiency Grant
  • Group-buying discounts negotiated through the Scheme

Grant eligibility is subject to:

  • property eligibility criteria
  • funding availability
  • approval by the relevant funding authority
  • submission of required documentation

Grant funding is not guaranteed until formally approved.

  1. Grant Administration

Where participants are eligible for the London Borough of Haringey grant:

  • RetrofitWorks will prepare and submit grant applications on behalf of participating homeowners
  • The London Borough of Haringey will review and approve applications
  • Approved grant funding may be transferred to RetrofitWorks acting as Managing Agent for the purposes of programme administration
  • Grant amounts will be applied as a reduction to the customer’s installation cost

Grant funding availability may be limited and may be exhausted during the lifetime of the Scheme. Where funding becomes unavailable, installations may continue under alternative funding arrangements or non-grant pathways.

  1. Payment Structure

Customer payment schedules typically include:

  • initial Scheme or survey deposit
  • installation deposit payable to the installation contractor
  • final installation payment following completion of works

Where grants apply, the approved grant value will be deducted from the total installation cost prior to final invoicing.

  1. Installation Contracts

Installation works are carried out under a separate contract between the homeowner and the appointed installation contractor.

RetrofitWorks is not the installation contractor and does not carry out physical installation works. RetrofitWorks’ role is limited to scheme administration, grant coordination, quality oversight, and programme management.

  1. Programme Delivery and Quality Assurance

RetrofitWorks provides scheme oversight, including:

  • programme administration and customer support
  • monitoring delivery performance across participating installers
  • quality assurance oversight and documentation review
  • programme reporting and funding-compliance monitoring

Installation contractors remain responsible for technical survey coordination, system design, installation delivery, and installation-specific compliance requirements.

  1. Funding Availability and Programme Closure

Participation in the Scheme and any associated grant funding is subject to the availability of public funding and programme capacity.

Grant funding is not guaranteed until formally approved by the relevant funding authority. Where grant funding becomes unavailable, is fully allocated, or programme funding arrangements change, RetrofitWorks reserves the right to:

  • continue the Scheme without grant funding,
  • offer alternative funding or financing options where available, or
  • close the Scheme to new applications or installations where delivery is no longer feasible.

RetrofitWorks shall not be liable for any losses arising from the withdrawal, reduction, or unavailability of grant funding that is outside its control.

  1. Programme Changes

RetrofitWorks reserves the right to amend Scheme processes, delivery arrangements, installer allocations, or funding structures where required due to operational, funding, or regulatory changes. Participants will be informed of any material changes affecting their participation.

  1. Limitation of Liability

RetrofitWorks shall not be liable for installation performance, workmanship, or contractor performance, which remain the responsibility of the appointed installation contractor under the installation contract.

RetrofitWorks’ liability is limited to Scheme administration services provided.

  1. Data Protection

Personal data will be processed in accordance with the Scheme Privacy Notice, which explains how RetrofitWorks and the London Borough of Haringey jointly manage personal data in relation to the Scheme.

  1. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
